Terms of service.

Last updated: May 28, 2026

These terms cover the use of Themebench, a small WordPress theme shop run by one person. By buying or downloading anything here, the customer agrees to the rules below. The intent is to keep things fair and predictable, not to bury anyone in legal language.

1. What Themebench sells

Themebench sells WordPress themes and theme bundles. Each purchase grants a license to use the theme, not ownership of it. The license is per production site, as defined in the License terms. Themes are delivered as digital files immediately after payment clears.

2. Acceptable use

Buyers may install, modify, and customize any purchased theme on the sites covered by the license. Modifying the PHP, CSS, JS, and template files is encouraged. Removing branding, swapping fonts, and adapting the layout to a project is exactly what the themes are for.

Buyers may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the theme files. Buyers may not bundle the themes into another product offered for sale or for free. Using a Themebench theme as the base of a competing theme shop is not permitted.

3. Payment and delivery

Payments are processed by Stripe. Themebench does not see or store card details. Once Stripe confirms a successful payment, the buyer receives an email with download links and a license key. If the email does not arrive within 30 minutes, the buyer should contact hello@themebench.com.

4. Refunds

Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase. Details are in the Refund policy.

5. Updates and support

Every purchased theme gets updates for as long as Themebench is operating. If Themebench ever stops shipping updates for a theme, buyers will be notified by email, and the last released version stays theirs to use without restriction. Support is provided by email, in writing, by the operator personally. Response windows depend on the license tier and are listed on the License page.

6. Changes to these terms

Themebench may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced by email to active buyers at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the themes after a change indicates acceptance of the new terms. Past purchases keep their original license rights regardless of future changes.

7. Disclaimers

Themes are provided as-is. Themebench makes no guarantee that a theme will fit every business model, every plugin combination, or every hosting environment. Reasonable effort is made to keep the catalog compatible with current WordPress versions and major plugins, but unusual setups may need adjustments.

Themebench is not liable for indirect damages, lost revenue, or data loss arising from theme use. Liability is capped at the amount paid for the theme in the past 12 months.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Operator jurisdiction]. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by email will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.

9. Contact

Questions, complaints, anything: hello@themebench.com. The operator reads every message.
