Themebench keeps a short list of data, holds it as briefly as is sensible, and does not sell or share it. This page covers what gets collected, why, how long it stays around, and how to ask for it to be deleted.
What gets collected
On checkout, Stripe collects the customer name, billing address, and email so the payment can be processed and an invoice can be issued. Themebench receives a copy of the email and billing address so it can deliver the theme files and answer questions if anything goes wrong. Card numbers are handled by Stripe directly and never reach Themebench servers.
On every page, the web server logs the visitor IP address and request URL for a short period. Logs are used to spot abuse, debug errors, and slow down obvious fraud attempts on checkout. Logs are pruned after 30 days.
If a customer emails support, the email thread is kept so the conversation can be continued and the operator can remember what was already answered.
What does not get collected
Themebench does not run third-party advertising pixels. There is no Google Ads tag, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no LinkedIn Insight tag. The site does not use cross-site tracking cookies. There are no behavioural ad networks loading scripts on the page. A small amount of first-party analytics may run to count page views, but it does not set persistent identifiers and does not share data with third parties.
How long it stays
Invoice records are kept for seven years because tax authorities expect them to exist for that long. Customer email threads are kept indefinitely unless deletion is requested. Server logs roll off after 30 days. Stripe holds its own copy of billing data under its own retention rules.
Sharing
Themebench shares data with: Stripe (for payment processing), an email sending provider (for delivering download links and replies), and the hosting provider (for serving the site). No data is sold. No data is shared with advertising partners. The list of subprocessors is updated here when it changes.
Rights
Customers can ask for a copy of the data Themebench holds about them, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion. Tax-required invoice records cannot be deleted until the legal retention period is over, but everything else can be removed on request.
Requests go to hello@themebench.com. Expect a response within five business days.
Children
Themebench is a tool for adults building websites. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy ever changes in a way that affects what is collected or how long it is kept, active customers will be notified by email. Minor wording updates may happen without notice.
