a writers blog should look like a writers blog. inkwell holds the line length at a measure that fits the eye. articles run long without the column getting noisy. footnotes work as footnotes, not parentheticals.
the reading-time estimate is at the top and the bottom. small detail, big difference. the related-posts block at the end pulls from your own archive instead of asking a third-party service to recommend you to yourself.
there is no popup. there is no subscribe-bar. if you want a newsletter signup you place it in a block where it belongs. the template trusts your judgement about when to ask.
