the player stays. that is the rule. you can click into an episode, scroll the archive, read the transcript, and the player at the bottom never resets. it survives navigation. it survives the back button. it survives a tab refresh on most browsers.
episodes group by season. seasons display as their own pages. each episode has a transcript field that renders as readable text, with timestamps that scrub the player when clicked. that part took the most time and matters the most.
i built volume because i wanted the player i kept failing to find in other podcast themes. once i had it i could not go back. the persistent player is the difference between a podcast site and a webpage about a podcast.
