i resisted building this for two years. horizontal scroll is usually a tell of someone showing off, not someone showing work. drift earns it by anchoring everything: the index never leaves the screen, the keyboard works, the urls deep-link.
every project becomes a sequence of full-bleed panels. images at the size they were designed at. captions on the side, never on top. the scroll feels less like a gimmick once you have used it for a few seconds.
it has a vertical fallback for narrow screens because i refuse to ship anything that fights a phone. the index becomes a sticky sidebar on tablet. on mobile it folds into the menu. nothing breaks.
