the brief was: make the grid people already understand. so this is exactly that. three columns at desktop, two at tablet, one on phone, ratios that hold up whether your hero image is 4:3 or 16:9.
the hover preview is the only flourish. it is configurable: a still, a short video clip, or nothing. the default is nothing because most people do not need it.
i designed folio for the freelancer who needs to send a client a link this week, not a meditation. it loads in under a second on a basic vps. it works the day you install it.
